Every camera is different. Every lens is different. Before a camera or lens is put into production to be used and enjoyed by consumers, engineers and designers spend years to develop this product.  Each brand has its own custom engineering and very specific design features. Every brand and every type of product requires its own specific repair tools, testing equipment and manuals. Over the years, we’ve invested a lot of our own time reverse engineering some of these design, sourcing factory equipment and tooling, following trainings and courses whenever possible (and available), as well as manufacturing and designing certain tools and parts.

Manufacturers only support their products for a limited amount of time. Once new models have been introduced, the support for the older models gradually disappears which also includes a discontinuation in spare parts manufacturing. As a result, certain spare parts for cameras and lenses are becoming scarce and difficult to obtain.

During the past years, Camera Revival was able to accumulate an extensive amount of spare parts for cameras and lenses of various brands and models. We also have the possibility to source certain spare parts thanks to our trusted world-wide network. In the most difficult cases we have resort to the manufacturing of these parts, which is a very expensive and time consuming process. That’s why it’s not always possible to be all-inclusive.

Due to these factors, we are obliged to limit our repair services to certain cameras and lens brands. This list is not comprehensive as there are many different designs of cameras and lenses out there. The main reason why we no longer provide any repair support for certain types of camera or lenses is mainly due to: lack of parts, lack of factory tooling or diagnostic equipment, a significant use of plastic construction which makes these items unreliable or simply because they suffer from design errors leading to all kinds of reliability issues during usage.
